Training
Over 25 years in Medicine
Tammy Jett-Parmer began her career working in several treatment settings including emergency and internal medicine, and was drawn to expand her practice into integrative and functional medicine.
Tammy Jett-Parmer is a Physician Assistant (or "PA"), one of several types of licensed independent medical practitioners: PAs, nurse practitioners and physicians (M.D.s), and in some states, naturopathic physicians and acupuncturists.
PAs can diagnose disease and prescribe medication. PAs undergo rigorous medical training, licensing and certification. PAs must complete extensive continuing medical education throughout their careers.
Specialized training, membership, and conferences with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), International Consortium for Integrative Medicine (ICIM), American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM), and others have expanded Tammy's "tool box" to help you discover the root cause of illness.
She has been in clinical practice in the Maryland area since 2014, and has practiced Integrative medicine since 2008.
Certified Health/Wellness Coach
Tammy’s training includes certifications and continuing education in Wellness and Health Coaching through the highly regarded Wellcoaches training institute, and she is board-certified with National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching. Her dedication to her clients and patients has helped them navigate lifestyle challenges critical to their success.
Wellness- coaching is a cornerstone to Tammy’s successful patient interaction. Coaching is a powerful method to connect with a patient’s level of interest or abilities in their own health. While many doctors ‘direct’ their patients, coaching is an interactive process which gives the patients co-creation in their own health.
My Story:
Hormonal therapy saved my life.
In my 40s, I faced debilitating migraines, exhaustion, anxiety, and severe hormonal dysfunction. I spent three years unable to work, bouncing between specialists, and feeling lost. Eventually, I was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency, mold exposure, and a complete hormonal crash — including undetectable levels of testosterone.
Through Functional Medicine, hormone therapy, gut healing, spiritual practice, fitness, and some amazing practitioners, I reclaimed my health. Now, I’m passionate about helping other women do the same.
You’re not meant to “just deal with it.” Let’s get to the root and help you feel like yourself again — or better.
