  • PA is short for Physician Associate or Physician Assistant.  PAs are also known as mid-level providers. Like nurse practitioners, we see patients, assess health conditions and prescribe medications when appropriate.  They work in collaboration with physicians but see their own patients.

  • Health and wellness coaching is a non-medical partnership whereby a coach helps one individual (or a group) make lifestyle changes such as getting better sleep, eating more nutritious food, or starting or maintaining an exercise program.  This is a client-guided method, usually taking 6-12 months

  • Empowered Women’s Wellness specializes in women's health and wellness.  From guiding women through hormone transitions like perimenopause and menopause using prescription medication and bioidentical hormone therapy to utilizing herbal medicine and alternative therapies, the choice that fits best depends on the person.  Weight loss medication can also be prescribed when appropriate.  Wellness coaching is offered as an adjunct support as well.

  • Yes, as appropriate for the situation.  I do not prescribe controlled substances other than testosterone.  You will need to keep a Family Medicine practitioner for urgent issues, as well as an OB/GYN for annual PAP smears and pelvic exams, as I don’t perform female exams.


  • Both in-person and online.  However I must see you in-person once a year at minimum.

  • I see patients in-clinic on Thursdays at AcuWorks at 9123 Old Annapolis Road in Columbia, Maryland.  I see patients on Zoom for telehealth appointments on Tuesdays.

  • No, I do not bill insurance for office or telehealth visits. This is a strictly out-of-pocket, cash-based practice.

    I do take credit and debit cards too.

    I can provide a “superbill” for you to take to your insurance company. A superbill is a highly detailed receipt for our session(s), itemizing the services that I provided. Some insurers reimburse for medical services provided outside of their coverage. New patient appointments last 90 minutes. The cost is $350.

    60 minute follow up appointments are $185, and shorter sessions are $100 for 30 minutes.

    If you are a candidate for hormone pellet therapy, the cost is $400 per insertion (every 3-4 months). Insurers do not reimburse for this procedure.

  • Yes, I am accepting new clients.

  • I am the only practitioner.

  • There are many options to support women going through menopause, and quite a number of them can give relief of symptoms. Hormone therapy is probably the best known medication to help, but herbal medicine, stress reduction, and attending to self-care are sometimes needed too.

  • Hormone therapy is a prescription medication, designed to alleviate the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause.  These are generally prescribed through a regular pharmacy but can also be tailored to exactly what you need with more precise dosing through a compounding pharmacy. 

  • You can make a new patient appointment by contacting me via Let’s Connect.  You’ll fill out a simple form and I or a representative of the clinic will get in touch with you to see if this clinic seems to be a good fit for what you need. After a brief conversation, if this seems right for you, you’ll be scheduled for a 90 minute intake session.

    If you are a previous patient, contact me via Let’s Connect, and then you’ll be able to schedule a 60-minute session via this website.


  • I’m sorry that you’ve had that experience in the past. I do my best to take the time to hear your concerns in your first 90-minute initial appointment so we have plenty of time to not only have your questions answered, but to have your concerns addressed. 

  • Yes.  Initial labs are required.  After that, you may need labs up to twice a year (or more often if needed).

  • Credit and debit card, as well as checks and cash payments are accepted.  Zelle payments have no charge.

  • Most people notice relief within 30-60 days. 

  • It is a wise choice to find a movement practice that you like in order to sustain your health as you move through this life.  It can be walking, weight lifting, hiking, or even playing softball. Regular exercise can help alleviate negative hormonal symptoms and regulate stress and sleep.  I highly recommend it! Five stars!

  • I do not create a specific diet for you to follow, only guidelines that work for most people when followed closely.

  • Most women feel some degree of relief of their symptoms related to hormonal changes when they start hormone therapy.  The degree to which this shows up for you is highly individual, so results can vary.  Everyone is different.
